Re: [GBW] [GBW_EXEC] New England Update, second try
I was a dues paying member of the Guild for over 20 years before
discontinuing my various subscriptions. I felt that the the Guild was moving
in a direction that actually impeded the desemination of information and
discouraged participation by non members. I like some of the ideas Peter
suggested but I also believe that if anybody is interested in anything we're
doing it should not be limited to members only. Don't you want as much
participation as possible? Also the concept of withholding information that
could be posted online shortly after an event is over or after a certain
publication date seems punitive and exclusive.
I also wonder how this all affects the finances of The Guild and the
various chapters. If opportunities to be expansive create handringing and
number crunching, (won't we lose money), responses, then change is truly
glacial.
