Wells College Book Arts Center Now Accepting Applications for Victor Hammer 
Fellowship

The Wells College Book Arts Center is pleased to begin accepting applications 
for the sixth Victor Hammer Fellowship in the Book Arts. The successful 
applicant will have extensive experience in hand bookbinding plus one other 
area of the books arts (letterpress printing, calligraphy, papermaking), as 
well as a proven commitment to promoting the book arts through education or 
community involvement.

The essential duties of this two-year fellowship are to teach one introductory 
hand bookbinding course per semester, to assist with a variety of Book Arts 
Center projects, and to produce an independent body of work. Benefits include 
an apprenticeship at the press and letterfoundry of Michael and Winifred 
Bixler in Skaneateles, New York, an annual stipend, a supplies budget and a 
medical insurance package.

Applicants should submit a letter of application, a complete CV, a statement 
of teaching philosophy, three letters of reference and 8-10 slides or

Finalists will be informed of a decision by March 15th and are asked to appear 
for an in-person interview and portfolio review. As our website is currently
