[GBW] info on gold foil for stamping
A former GBW member sent me this info to pass onto Guild members...
-------------------------------
Hello Eric,
I've tried one of Quick's products so far. They say it replaces the Swift
gold foil for tooling. It's a little darker and more satin, but not as dark
as the German gold that Schaeffer supplies. They do have other products.
They are willing to give out samples. I think it's important for all the
bookbinders to give them feedback.
The other website is for Fort Hill Engraving. They make brass tools for a
heated roll...it's interesting...and it's in Massachusetts. I know that
Peter Geraty uses one and likes it a lot.
