I'm sorry to have to use the listserv to announce such sad news, but it
seemed the quickest way to let everyone know that Joe Newman, a long time
member of the Guild, passed away Saturday afternoon after a long battle with
cancer. He was 58 years old.
Joe was the president of the New England Chapter for four years in the early
1990s. Early in his career, Joe worked at the Harcourt Bindery in Boston,
then founded the Pride's Crossing Bindery. He worked for the last twenty
years as a book conservator at the Northeast Document Conservation Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 25 in the Grondin Funeral
Home, 376 Cabot Street, BEVERLY at 10 A.M. Visiting hours will be held on
Tuesday, May 24 from 5-8 P.M.
