The American Printing History Association Southern California
Chapter  
is sponsoring a lecture by Gregory Graalfs entitled ?Opposite  
Attract: Remembrances of Studies with Jack Stauffacher and
William  
Everson at U.C. Santa Cruz.? Gregory Graalfs has worked in the  
publishing industry for some years and has taught printing
history  
and typography. His current research interest is literary fine  
presses in California from 1950 to 2000. In this lecture Mr.
Graalfs  
will address his years as a student of fine printing at UCSC in
the  
1970s under Jack Stauffacher and William Everson, both important
 
California fine printers. He will reflect on his work on
Everson?s  
landmark book ?Granite and Cypress? by Robinson Jeffers. A
reception
