[GBW] Part time Internship available in Minneapolis



Susan Hensel & Susan Hensel Gallery seeks Part Time Internship/assistant
 
 
 I am seeking an intern who wants to experience the day to day diversity of combining a gallery with a working art studio 8 hours per week.
 
 Susan Hensel Gallery is a Minneapolis gallery devoted to art, story and activism. It shows artwork of all sorts from all over the United States. New shows are hung every two months. Openings are brisk. The gallery is scheduled several years out.
 
 Susan Hensel is a multimedia artist whose artists books are collected nationally. She also produces sculpture, installation and soundwork.
 
 Characteristics of applicant: curious, punctual, reliable, self-starter
 Required skills: general knowledge of Mac OS environment
 Desirable skills: some experience with Adobe CS2, databases, and Quark Xpress
 
 Possible tasks an intern can expect to gain experience in over time:
 
     Assembling limited edition books
     Assembling journals
     Papermaking
     Data entry
     Web design & maintenance
     Mailings
     Gallery publicity
     Hanging shows
     Setting up and helping a openings
     General sweep,paint,build maintenance tasks
 
 Additional opportunities ?off the clock?: the intern may work on own work in the studio when not on the clock, show own work in select shows, receive critiques, teach workshops
