[GBW] WANTED: Bookbinding Stories

Greetings,

       How do bindings and book structures affect the preservation (survival!) of
texts?

       To answer this question I seek unpublished stories about bookbinding
practice.  I'd like to hear book worker stories about discoveries you've
made while working on books.  I'd like also word on binding treatments you
overtly shape to keep a valued text from loss at some distant date.

       I am writing an article on this theme for publication later this year and
welcome hearing your good stories.
