[GBW] GBW listserv maintenance update

Dear GBW listserv subscribers:

A number of you have pointed out that they are no longer receiving "digest"
format postings (a whole bunch of postings in one mailing) and are instead
receiving all the postings as individual emails.  I will admit I am the
guilty party on this mess up.  While trying to update the subscriber list a
couple weeks ago, I inadvertently must have switched everyone to individual
postings.  It hasn't been until the last few days that I realized what
happened, especially with the "flood" of messages in the last few days!

If you are receiving individual postings but would rather get the digest,
you can go the the GBW listserv webpage and change the setting very easily.
For most email programs, you can just point and click at the setting you
want. (This also works if you want to postpone message while on vacation or
to unsubscribe from the list.)  The webpage address is:
<http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/byform/mailing-lists/gbwlist/#inst>.  The
correct setting you want is: "set  GBW mail digest".  If this doesn't work
or you find it confusing, just email me at
<listserv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> and I can manually change your
settings for you.

I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this has caused.  And I
promise I will be more careful when messing with the global settings next
time I'm updating the subscriber list!
