Handfuls of Lilies: The Art of Sarah Whitman, Boston Public Library Rare
Book Room, through December 31, 2004.

An exhibit of over 200 books and other objects by the Boston artist Sarah
Wyman Whitman traces her development as a major American book and stained
glass designer from 1880 to her death in 1904.  Arranged chronologically,
the exhibit includes photographs of several stained glass pieces and
installations, landscapes, bookplates, stamping brasses, gravestones, and
book covers.

The Rare Book Department is open 9 to 5, Monday through Friday.   For more
