A few words for Aiko:
Aiko and her shop were a delight. Infused with a soft light and full of
subtle treasures, the shop was presided over by the ever charming, never changing
Aiko herself. To stop in to buy a few sheets of paper was to emerge an hour
or two later with many more, and often a woodblock print as well. The calm,
cheery atmosphere was enthralling. Most of us who have lived in Chicago at one
time or another over the last fifty years are left with lovely memories of a
lovely lady, along with her lovely papers as a souvenir. Aiko remains
unforgettable.
