[GBW] Position at The New York Botanical Garden

The LuEsther T. Mertz Library at The New York Botanical Garden offers a part-time Conservation Technician position (17 hrs/wk).  Under the supervision of the Conservation Librarian and the Assistant Conservator, the Conservation Technician will perform collection preservation tasks such as book and paper repairs, pamphlet binding, protective enclosures and environmental monitoring; will assist in the preparation, installation, maintenance and dismounting of exhibitions; will prepare materials, maintain the Lab and exhibition cases, and assist with special projects. 

BA or the equivalent degree; demonstrated manual skills; training and/or experience in the care and handling of books and other library materials; experience with exhibition/display and/or interest in preservation as a career preferred.  Salary commensurate with experience.
