[GBW] Northwest Chapter launches website

The Northwest Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers is pleased to announce
the launch of its website, which can be linked from the national Guild
site, or point your browser directly to:

http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/byorg/gbw/chapters/northwest/

We hope our site will come to be a reliable resource for our members,
uniting us across the expanse of our region, which is fortunate to
include wide-open rural spaces in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and B.C., as
well as the bustling urban/cultural centers of Seattle, Portland, and
Vancouver.

Rather than taking on so complicated a question as "What is a book?" the
site is designed around the tools common to us all: the paper,
bonefolders, and knives that clutter our studios, workshops, and
classrooms.

Included on our chapter site are: the beginnings of our NW Chapter
calendar, links to a sampling of Northwest-area book arts resources, news
and archive information, and an online member gallery. This information
is far from complete! We hope that the website will grow with the growth
of our newly formed chapter.

We invite members from across the country to check out the site to see
what is going on in our region, as well as remember this as a resource of
places and events not-to-be-missed when traveling to the beautiful
