[GBW] dirty endpapers/pastedowns

I need some advice.

When replacing endpapers and/or pastedowns in an old dirty non cleanable  book, what is the best way to age the replacements so they aren't so stark?  Can I dirty them up somehow?  Thanks, Edna Wright
