Introduction to Non-Adhesive Bookbinding
Tuesday and Thursday Evenings
Sept. 30-Oct 30,2003

    Now offered in the evenings. This introductory course will
    enable students to learn and explore some of the oldest known
    bookbinding techniques. An historical range of sewn bindings
    will be practiced as an alternative to traditional case
    bindings. Through demonstrations and exercises, students will
    earn to construct simple pamphlets, long stitch, coptic and
    other bindings as time permits. This class is open to all skill
    levels and is limited to 12 students.

Introduction to Gilding
Friday-Sunday, Nov. 7-9, 2003
8:30 am - 4:30 pm

    This introductory course will concentrate on familiarizing the
    students with the traditional techniques of oil and water
    gilding. An historic overview of the practices and techniques
    will be covered.
