[GBW] Book Arts Class

Paste papers and bookbinding in La Antigua Guatemala, February 1 - 10, 2002.
Barbara Broff Goldman is will be your instructor for 10 exciting and
adventurous days in the delightful, historical town of La Antiqua, the
colonial capital of Guatemala. Located about 1/2 hour from Guatemala City, La
Antiqua is an international, colorful, artsy town surrounded by volcanoes AND
it is warm in the winter.
The class will include paste paper making and bindings of one of a kind
artist books. By the end of the week you should have many different book
styles and hopefully a memory book to remind you of a wonderful vacation.
Beginners AND sightseers welcome. Classes are conducted in the am in the
courtyard of the private home where you will be staying.
The afternoons are for sightseeing, which will include a visit to a home in
Santa Catarina Barahona where you will learn to make tortillas and sample a
typical meal. Also an overnight trip to Lake Atitlan, a VERY beautiful lake
located in the western highlands of Guatemala, surrounded by volcanos and
colorful Mayan markets.
