Patricia M. SmithPhiladelphia, PennsylvaniaHoursArtist Book
A modern book of hours in a long stitch binding covered in black and purple Japanese cloth. Graphite rubbings illustrate flight both physically and metaphorically. Conceived on September 11, 2001, the text references both the canonical hours of the day and the catastrophic events of our time. PATRICIA M. SMITH is a book artist, printmaker, and the current director of the MFA Book Arts/Printmaking program at The University of the Arts. She has curated exhibitions related to book arts and offset lithography. Her works have been seen in national and international shows. |
