Cloth cover box inspired by a 1910 postcard describing a Cleveland, Ohio, air show and period newspaper reports on the event. A biplane made of toothpicks and paper is sealed by overprinted transparent film. Side opening encases a folder for the original postcard and facsimile news clippings. MARY HOWE has been creating book works for ten years in a studio on an island off the coast of Maine. Her focus is one-of-a-kind books, small editions and box making. |
